IMPACT at the New Mobility Congress

27/09/2024

IMPACT participated in the New Mobility Congress (KNM 2024) held in Łódź, where we presented our battery solutions for heavy-duty transport. At booth No. 10, visitors had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with our battery systems and learn about #GigafactoryX – Poland’s first factory producing Li-ion batteries for heavy-duty transport. The factory in Pruszków has reached a production capacity of 1.2 GWh per year, allowing the production of 16,000 battery systems annually.

An important highlight of the event was a presentation by Rafał Kadlof, Product Development Manager, who participated in the panel “Electric Heavy Duty – A Convergence of Technologies.” The discussion focused on the future of long-distance electric transport and technologies that already enable 500 km ranges on a single charge for electric e-buses and e-trucks, such as the PileaE12 by ARP E-Vehicles and the eActros600 by Daimler Truck AG. It is also worth mentioning the H2gen hydrogen truck prototype by Daimler, which offers a range of 1000 km on a single refuel.

During the fair, the future of battery charging was also discussed, with a focus on the development of Megawatt Charging Systems (MCS), which enable charging within 30-40 minutes. Another topic was the scope and speed of charging, with attention given to legal regulations concerning drivers’ working hours, speed limits, and breaks. It was pointed out that during a 30-40 minute break, drivers can charge enough energy for the rest of the journey, while low-power overnight charging can help avoid battery degradation.

It is also worth mentioning that IMPACT received the prestigious EMOBILITY LEADER 2024 award, recognizing our efforts to develop electromobility. Marcin Orlikowski delivered a lecture on “The Application of Low-Pressure Hydrogen Fuel Cells in Transport and Heavy-Duty Vehicles,” while Bartek Kras discussed the future of Li-ion battery technology in heavy-duty transport. Bartek also participated in the panel “The Battery Ecosystem as a Pillar of CEE’s Industrial Strategy,” featuring experts such as Joanna Kulczycka, Olaf Rogge, and Robert Makieła, with Marianna Evenstein as the moderator.

We thank all participants for the inspiring conversations and are pleased to have had the opportunity to present our solutions that support the development of sustainable transport. We look forward to future editions of the New Mobility Congress.
